What problems do wildlife cause?

Most of the calls we get are because homeowners hear animals scurrying around inside the attic or walls. Most of the damage inside a houes or attic is unseen. Rodents like squirrels, mice, and rats often chew on electrical wires. Wildlife such as raccoons, bats, birds, opossums, and rats spread several diseases that humans can and do catch, such as Histoplasmosis, Salmonella, Leptospirosis and more. Many critters leave droppings and urine in an attic or cause mold or odor problems. We also handle animals outside the house. It could be a critter that has dug a large hole next to your house, or a raccoon in your garbage cans, an opossum that is stealing pet food, or a skunk living under your deck, causing an odor problem. Some animals destroy your garden or landscaping. Or perhaps you are simply scared of snakes. The House Mouse And Its Links With Humanity

The image that humans generally have of mice is a generally benevolent one. These small rodents are only a little smaller than the rat, which is commonly despised, but the reaction of humans to mice is significantly different. This is largely to do with their appearance, as mice are smaller and are much cuter than rats, even though they have many similarities. The house mouse is generally found in the homes of people, as the name suggests, so is it really a major Lexington rodent extermination pest?

What Are The Dangers Posed To Humans By House Mice
Although there is a more benevolent view taken of mice as opposed to rats, having an infestation of house mice in your home can cause some serious Lexington raccoon removal problems. One of the most important things is the damage they can do, and this is especially important for the wiring and cables that is to be found in the wall cavities and ceiling space. Mice are very similar to other rodents in that they will gnaw on anything that is available. They are also likely to contaminate any areas in which they live with droppings and urine, which can often smell.

The house mouse is an animal that can carry a large number of Lexington rat control diseases and parasites that can be transmitted to humans. These can include the bubonic plague, murine typhus and a form of meningitis. For this reason it is just as important to remove a mouse infestation as it is to deal with any other kind of animal infestation.

As well as their potential to spread diseases, they can also cause illness in humans by contaminating the food supply, and this is particularly the case if they are able to get in to a kitchen cupboard. They can also eat animal food from a storage room, and this can also spread disease to livestock or to pets through this contamination.

The House Mouse As A Pet
There are millions of people around the world who keep a domesticated house mouse as a pet, and they really can make for wonderful companions for children and adults. When kept in a cage that gives them access to clean bedding Lexington bird control materials and water they really are wonderful animals, and are much cleaner than many people would expect. After regular handling the domesticated house mouse will become used to human contact, and can show great affection for their owners.

Most people will feed their mouse a shop bought food, although this can be supplemented with treats or other foods such as grains that the mouse will enjoy. Most people will keep their pet house mouse in a cage or in an aquarium, and the mouse will thrive when given plenty of space to move and different toys and materials that it can play with. The only Lexington bat removal issue with keeping a house mouse as a pet is that it is generally nocturnal, so is likely to be sleeping for most of the day.

It is not advised that a house mouse that has been trapped should be kept as a pet, as they will often carry many diseases and parasites that are not to be found in the domesticated variants of the species.

Should You Be Worried About Mice In Your Home?
An infestation of house mice is certainly not something to be taken lightly, and although they do make wonderful pets there are a number of problems that are associated with Lexington snake removal living in close proximity to mice. The house mouse that has been domesticated and is being kept as a pet is a wonderful animal, but when it is living with many other mice in the basement or scurrying around the house then it really is something that needs to be removed.
